The Tony-nominated, Michael Arden-helmed musical revival returned to Broadway, which officially opened at the Circle in the Square Theatre December 3. Starring Lea Salonga, Alex Newell, and Hailey Kilgore, it received great praise from all critics!
Broadway News said it was 'an absolute incandescent revival', and praised the leading 18-year-old newcomer Hailey Kilgore saying, 'Kilgore glows with big-hearted life'. Kilgore also captured Variety's attention with them stating her calypso number should 'clinch the future theater career of this thrilling young talent'.
Time Out New York said, 'It sings, dances, and conjures up a storm!', and Theatremania credited the ensemble, choreography, and cast saying 'the production walks the delicate line between the minuscule and the infinite'.
