The 'Big Bang Theory' star gives a tour-de-force performance in this wickedly irreverent and surprisingly thoughtful anarchic comedy.

Why See An Act of God?

Big Bang Theory Star Jim Parsons returns to Broadway

The four-time Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Jim Parsons, better known as gawky theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper from the hit TV show The Big Bang Theory, is set to return to Broadway this Spring in his most controversial role yet - God. Parsons takes on the starring role in this adaptation of David Javerbaum's fearless and critically acclaimed satire/"autobiography" The Last Testament: A Memoir by God.

Javerbaum, an accomplished comedy writer, musical theatre librettist and lyricist, has an astounding 13 Emmys and 2 Grammys under his belt for his work on The Daily Show. His take on the modern relationship between God and man, billed as a message from the Almighty as transcribed by himself, is 464 pages of pure audacity; an attempt at the personification of a supreme deity with hilarious results. How else could one describe the musings of a God who keeps up with the latest season of American Idol?

What is An Act of God About?

Staged at NYC's historic Studio 54 Theatre, An Act of God is the chance to hear about the unfolding of life, the universe and other mysteries from the Big Guy himself. Answers to the existential quandaries of human existence are punctuated by politically incorrect outbursts, although all men are equal in God's eyes for no one is safe from his rib-tickling wrath. The show's run at Studio 54 is no accident too, the former club was once New York's premier den of inequity. Expect a bold, no-holds-barred comedy that'll leave your sides aching.
