Taking place over four different cities, the League of Legends World Championship 2016 will host its semifinal stage at the Big Apple's own Madison Square Garden. Much like its counter part DOTA, League of Legends, affectionately known by aficionados as LoL, is a hugely popular online battle arena game in which the gamer (also known as summoner) controls a champion and tries to destroy the heart, or 'nexus', of the opposing team's base. The World Championship culminates in a face-off between two teams to determine who is the master of strategy and speed.
