Headline-making singer-songwriter Lady Gaga will tour her new album "ARTPOP" in mid-2014 and 2015
One of modern music's most iconic figures, Lady Gaga is a true force of nature. Since the release of her 2008 single Let's Dance she's carved out her own path through the modern pop landscape, bowing to no ones opinions but her own. Hugely successful and critically acclaimed, she has five Grammys to her name and total record sales of over 140 million worldwide. Tracks like Poker Face, Bad Romance and Born this Way have all achieved radio ubiquity and demonstrated her ineffable ability to summon up world conquering, synth-driven ear worms.
In 2013 she released her third studio album Artpop, a dizzying bubblegum mesh of electronica, built around the concept of marrying celebrity, popular culture and high art. In support of the album, Gaga will be embarking on a worldwide tour in 2014 and 2015 - including dates at venues where she was forced to cancel during her 2013 tour due to a hip injury. Her performance earlier this year at SXSW was the most talked about at the festival and delivered on the promise of the album's performance art themes. If her tour is even half as crazy, it's sure to be an unforgettable experience.
Support for Lady Gaga's US dates will be divided between South Korean girl group Crayon Pop (whose Bar Bar Bar was a Youtube sensation) and Japanese 3-D hologram Hatsune Miku.
