Why See New York City Ballet: Tschaikovsky & Balanchine Hear The Dance - Russia?

Five shows only

From legendary composer to legendary choreographer, New York City Ballet present four of George Balanchine' pieces set to the music of Tchaikovsky in a show displaying the artistic genius of both and translated by the talents of America's most recognised ballet company.

For fans of the influential former NYCB Artistic Director, this show promises to capture the romance and spirituality of Tchaikovsky that he was able to highlight with his exemplary choreography.

Programme:

Serenade

A signature work in the NYCB canon, this sweeping classically romantic tale was Balanchine's first piece of work created in America.

Mozartiana

Elegance and swelling solemnity are the enchanting themes in this prayerful work.

Pas De Deux

One of the most famous compositions in the world, a small section of the frenetic and beguiling dance of the swans in Swan Lake.

Tchaikovsky Suite No.3

A heart-breaking magical and romantic piece that typifies the popularity and timelessness of the composer himself.
