The 40th anniversary tour

Forty years after the legendary concert that bade a fond farewell to The Band, a very special touring engagement is set to take America by storm in early 2017! Produced by Blackbird Presents, The Last Waltz Anniversary tour showcases some of the original artists as they reunite for the first time across multiple US cities. Helmed by musical director Warren Haynes, the lineup includes Michael McDonald, Jamey Johnson, John Medeski, and Terence Higgins, all set to the original concert lineup arrangement created by Allen Toussaint. The Last Waltz tour will feature special guests at each stop and will be hitting Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, showing for one date only on 27 Jan 2017!

Originally performed on Thanksgiving 1976 in San Francisco, the Last Waltz was the farewell concert by Canadian-American rockers The Band and even spawned an acclaimed documentary film by Martin Scorsese, which was released in 1978. The concert was notable in welcoming some of the biggest guest names in the business including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Starr,Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, Neil Diamond and Eric Clapton to name a few.
