FIDDLER RETURNS TO BROADWAY

Show still in previews:Fiddler is an amazing show with incredible music and a poignant story. Almost everyone has either seen the show or movie and knows the songs. Its really hard to be critical of such an incredible show, but here it goes: 1st: the show was too long. There were times I was actually bored. I can't be specific, but some scenes just dragged a bit..for me. 2nd: I like to be inspired by a performance. With a show like Fiddler, its hard to break new ground and really I wouldn't necessarily want that. Other than some energetic and clever dances in the wedding scene, I just felt a bit of flatness. 3rd: I don't want to be harsh, I really couldn't act, sing or dance my way out of a paper bag, but it seemed like some of the cast members were under the weather. That's the nicest way I can say it. Several of the leading men and Golda had come weak moments when singing, but then were amazing a scene later. Lets call it choppy performances by some. Still highly recommend tho

What we thought

Iconic sensitive BEAUTIFUL

The movement is dynamic in its traditional form with a perfect touch of contemporary edge

Fiddler on The Roof is a great example of how imperative story is. It captures a slice of time and reminds us that we must relish in the freedom we have, challenge the restrictions and prejudices on others, and embrace our differences.
