A musical which mines the funny from the mid-life crisis
A mid-life musical comedy, Happy 50ish tackles the fear we all have of the big five-O with wit and just a little bit of naughtiness. Written by Lynn Shore, Mark Vogel and David Burnham, the show has already played hugely successful runs on the West Coast, drawing praise for its memorable tunes and irrepressible sense of fun. The story revolves around the character of Bob's surprise 50th birthday bash, which doesn't go quite according to plan...
The musical was inspiried by creator Shore's own experience of hitting the milestone age, and finding himself at a lowpoint. As artists are want to do, he channelled his self-doubt into his writing, and working together with his two collaborators, Happy 50ish was born! This Off-Broadway staging is directed by Paul Stanko.
