Rock Legends
Leon and Russell have been frequent touring buddies over the years. While not exactly household names, they've both trod a winding path through the annuls of rock history, collaborating with some of rock's most famous artists. These concerts will see them both play catalogue-spanning solo sets.
The magnificently bearded Russell played with everyone George Harrison to Frank Sinatra during his time as a Los Angeles session musician in the 50s and 60s. Over the next four decades he kept up a constant stream of quality work, but it wasn't his 2010 collaborative effort with Elton John, titled The Union, that he really started getting his due as a solo artist.
In his long career, Mason has recorded with various artists such as the late great Jimi Hendrix, as well as The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and George Harrison. His best-known solo song is 'Feelin' Alright', which was recorded by Traffic in 1968 and has been covered by the likes of Joe Cocker in the intervening years.
