One of the most admired guitarists of the early 21st century, Jack

Jack White has helped restore the popularity of punk-blues as the frontman of the White Stripes. Meanwhile, he increased his reach by engaging in a range of other projects, including the Raconteurs, the Dead Weather, the Cold Mountain soundtrack, and Loretta Lynn's comeback vehicle Van Lear Rose.

Although White's nasal voice and loose, fiery guitar delivery were typical of the White Stripes' early work, the group branched out as its reputation grew, building upon an initially minimalist sound with elements of metal, backwoods country, pop, and early rock & roll.

White was awarded the title of "Nashville Music City Ambassador" by Nashville mayor Karl Dean in 2011 and then he released his debut solo album Blunderbuss in April 2012.
