Magnetically compelling... If there are comics with more onstage charisma than Dave Chappelle, I haven't seen them.
The New York Times
Dave Chappelle will be heading to New York City to perform for the first time in ten years! He heads to the Big Apple hot on the heels of his hugely successful Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Tour, which saw the comedy legend perform 13 dates over just five weekends. Now at Radio City Hall, he's pushing himself even further with five back-to-back gigs at a venue he's headlining for the very first time, with some incredible musical guests!
Dave Chappelle's public allure has only increased since he turned down a $50 million contract to continue his weekly TV show, Chappelle's Show, after it had only been on-air for two years and was a huge hit. Since then, the DC-born comedian rarely performed on television or gave interviews - though he did have a stand-up endurance battle with Dane Cook a few years back (Dane eventually won but not without a fight).
His 2013 Oddball tour marked the comedians return to touring, one he co-headlined with the Flight of Concords and which went off (mostly) without a hitch. So with that experience still fresh in his mind and a wealth of Hartford-based jokes stored up, Chappelle prepares to take on New York City for five nights!
