Really Rosie

August 2-5, 2017

New York City Centre close out their new Encores! season with Maurice Sendak and Carole King's Really Rosie. This sweet, family-friendly show first premiered Off-Broadway in 1980, and has since become a mainstay of children's theatre groups worldwide. Combining the Where the Wild Things Are writer's empathy for his young protagonists and Carole King's unmatched talent for sparkling pop melodies, it's a whipsmart musical that never once talks down to its young audience.

Brigadoon

November 15-19, 2017

Kelli O'Hara and Patrick Wilson star in this brand new concert staging of the beloved Lerner and Loewe tale of magic and romance in a mysterious village in the Scottish Highlands. Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon (An American in Paris), this concert staging will revisit the musical that aside from a healthy appreciation of tartan, gave us beautiful ballet interludes and wonderful songs such as 'Almost Like Being in Love'

Hey, Look Me Over!

February 7-11, 2018

Kicking off the 2018 season at The New York City Center in January, this natural progression of Jack Viertel's enduring 25-year musical review Encores celebrates the biggest tunes on Broadway that the original show have yet to perform and put their unique tongue-in-cheek spin on! Credited in part for helping revive the popularity of musicals such as Chicago, Wonderful Town, and Finian's Rainbow, this newest offering will feature tunes from the little-known musicals Mack & Mabel, Greenwillow, Wildcat and many, many more!

Grand Hotel

March 21-25, 2018

The deliciously decadent musical that was based on Vicki Baum's 1928 novel Menschen im Hotel heads to the NY City Center as part of its 2018 season! First premiering im 1989, it was preceded by a famed pre-Code Hollywood movie starring Greta Garbo. Following the exploits amongst the guests of a glamorous Berlin hotel in the height of the Roaring Twenties, this story takes place over the course of a weekend. At once celebrating the pleasures of crossing paths with strangers and warning against haste, this musical drama was nominated for 12 Tony Awards, and won five including best direction and choreography for Tommy Tune.

Me and My Girl

May 9-13, 2018

Head down to the old East End of London town, in this delightfully quirky musical comedy by Noel Gay, with a revised book by British satirist Stephen Fry. Not seen in New York for over 30 years, this charming walk down memory lane first premiered in London' West End in 1937, before being adapted to film in 1939, as The Lambeth Walk, after the famous dance. With two revivals, the most recent in 1984, it won two Olivier Awards and ran for an astonishing eight years in London.
