Cabin in the Sky

Until February 14, 2016

The 2016 Encores! series, which revives rarely performed musicals in the form of staged concerts, continues with 1940's Cabin in the Sky. With catchy music and lyrics by Vernon Duke and John Latouche, this show is a fable-like tale that celebrates African American music and dance. Micheal Potts (The Book of Mormon) and Tony winners Chuck Cooper (The Life) and LaChanze (The Color Purple) are among the cast.

March 30-April 3, 2016

Whilst it's hard to imagine a world without Lin-Manuel's rendition of the intricacies of the birth of the nation in Hamilton, Encores! is here to remind us that 1776 once filled the role of groundbreaking Founding Fathers musical with a timely new production this Spring.

Dance Theatre of Harlem

April 9, 2016

One of America's most revered dance companies display their immense talents again in a beautifully created and performed show. With their slogan "Power. On Pointe." one can be assured that the Dance Theatre of Harlem isn't just another ballet company - they're committed to pushing the boundaries of the art form, challenging traditional definitions in ballet, and empowering the community through their medium.

Do I Hear a Waltz?

May 11-15, 2016

New York City Center's Encores! series presents this incredibly rare collaboration between Richard Rogers and Stephen Sondheim, marking the only time these two legends of musical theatre ever worked together. Featuring some of Roger's most beautiful melodies and the early talents of a burgeoning Sondheim, this bittersweet tale of an American abroad is given new life by Encores! in its 22nd season.
