David Grimm's tender and touching new play follows Helena, widowed during World War I. She is forced to turn to the oldest profession to maintain her privileged lifestyle when her husband is tragically killed in the war.
For how long can she keep this secret life hidden to protect her public image? Or will her desperate efforts to live out her life's dreams despite her sudden financial instability end in ruin?
Tales From Red Vienna is a touching and poetic new work which looks at the treatment of women during times of war. This is the play's world premiere, and is directed by Kate Whoriskey, staring Tony-winner Nina Arianda as Helena alongside Tony-nominee Kathleen Chalfan.
