Metropolitan Opera: La Sonnambula

Closed April 1, 2014

Bellini's poignant period piece.

Why See Metropolitan Opera: La Sonnambula?

Vincenzo Bellini's hauntingly lyrical score soars while La Sonnambula's dual elements of sleep and wakefulness frame an intriguing staging of Bellini's sweet love story.

Diana Damrau stars as Amina in this return of Mary Zimmerman's daring production by the acclaimed Metropolitan Opera. While the opera is originally set in a Swiss village, Zimmerman's avant-garde version is set in a rehearsal studio where the performers are practicing for a production of La Sonnambula.
