AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE: CLASSIC TO PREMIERES

ABT has enjoyed a history of artistic collaborations with some of the most important choreographers of the day. One of ABT's founding fathers, Antony Tudor, revolutionized ballet with his ability to reveal the human psyche with emotionally authentic movements. A practicing Buddhist, Tudor was partly inspired by Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book when he choreographed Shadowplay, an allegory of a young boy's journey through a wild jungle to reach his spiritual awakening. While honoring Tudor's remarkable contributions to the ballet canon, ABT also looks forward to the future with the U.S. Premiere of an ABT commission by Benjamin Millepied and World Premieres by Alexei Ratmansky and Christopher Wheeldon. Make sure you see what promises to be one of the most exciting dance events in 2011!
