9 to 5 the Best New Time on Broadway,
Aug 27, 2009
reviewer: from Charleston
I don't know what the critics are complaining about, but to me 9 to 5 the Musical is one of the best show to come out in years! I have always been a huge fan of the film so I was so excited to see the show. I enjoyed it so much that I saw it twice when I was there. It's a real shame it's closing so soon!! For those who are fans of the movie like me won't be at least bit disappointed for the story line is exactly the same as the film itself though there are a few changes. Allison Janney, Stephanie J. Block, Megan Hilty, and Marc Kudisch all bring depth to their characters and perform it perfectly. The sets and costumes as well as the effects are amazing! Dolly Parton's music score is very well written and features some of the best new broadway songs. Stephanie can really sing which shows in her final big number. We need more shows like this! In my opinion, Rock of Ages was nothing but pure trash and didn't even deserve the nomination for best musical. Go see it!! It's the best show!
