These grim figures - the living dead who have washed ashore at Harry Hope's bar, where they spend their days cadging drinks and killing time - are portrayed with heart-scraping pungency in Robert Falls's sterling new production of Eugene O'Neill's tough,

Why See The Iceman Cometh?

This New York premiere of Eugene O'Neill's masterpiece will star Nathan Lane and Brian Dennehy. The production previously ran to sell-out performances in Chicago in 2012, and now heads to Broadway with its original cast intact.

The play stars Lane as Theodore Hickman alongside Dennehy as Larry Slade, both regulars at a downmarket saloon in Greenwich Village. Slade and the bars other daily patrons, drink their lives away at the saloon, their only enjoyment being the semi-annual visits of Hickey (played by Lane) - a charismatic travelling salesman who helps to lift their spirits, albeit momentarily.

With director Robert Fall at the helm once again, this highly anticipated Broadway production is set to impress audiences and critics as it did in Chicago. Though those wanting to simply catch a glimpse of these two Tony-winning actors on stage take heed - this epic play is written in four acts and runs almost five hours long.
