The Snow Geese Looks at World War I Through a Chekhovian Lens.

New York Observer

Why See The Snow Geese?

With World War I raging abroad, newly widowed Elizabeth Gaesling convenes her family for their annual shooting party to mark the opening of hunting season in rural, upstate New York.

But as her carefree eldest son comes to terms with his impending deployment overseas and her younger son discovers that the father they all revered left them deeply in debt, they must let go of the life they've always known.

This production of The Snow Geese marks the play's world premiere and stars Tony and Emmy winning actress Mary-Louise Parker. Written by Sharr White (The Other Place, Annapurna, Sunlight), The Snow Geese was completed during a residency at the Cape Cod Theatre Project and is the second Broadway production of one of his plays, the first being The Other Place in 2012.
