Photo Coverage: ABBA Wax Figures Make U.S. Debut at Madame Tussauds with the Cast of MAMMA MIA!

Madame Tussauds New York just hosted a spirited unveiling for the wax figures of worldwide music sensation ABBA as they make their stateside debut, with the help of the Broadway stars from the smash hit musical Mamma Mia! - Judy McLane, Lauren Cohn and Stacia Fernandez at Madame Tussauds New York, 234 W. 42nd St (between 7th and 8th Aves). BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration and you can check out photos below!

ABBA, one of the world's most successful and enduring bands, was established in 1972 with Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The band members and their personal costume designer Owe Sandström worked closely with Madame Tussauds artists in creating their wax figures -- selecting the attire and dictating the look. The figures are dressed in hand-painted, exact replicas of their iconic performance garb from their 1975 video for "SOS" - matching white outfits, bell-bottomed pants and sky high platform boots.

Now celebrating 13 smash hit years and over 5,000 performances on Broadway at The Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44 Street), Mamma Mia! is one of the most successful musicals of all time anywhere in the world, the ninth longest running show in Broadway history, and one of only 5 musicals to have run for more than 10 years on Broadway. Acclaimed by the Associated Press as "quite simply, a phenomenon" Mamma Mia! continues its global success having been seen by over 54 million people, in 39 productions in 14 languages in over 400 cities around the world.

Madame Tussauds New York is the interactive "must do" attraction, providing guests with unique opportunities to create memories with some of the world's biggest icons. Prominently located in the heart of Times Square, Madame Tussauds New York is open 365 days a year at 10 a.m. Visit or call (212) 512-9600 or (866) 841-3505 for more information.
