Why See The Velocity of Autumn?

Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons and two-time Tony winner Stephen Spinella star together in this charming comedy about an estranged mother and son who eventually reunite in some rather unusual circumstances. The production ran in Washington D.C. in 2013, where it received rave reviews from critics.

Alexandra, a 79-year-old artist, hasn't seen her son Chris for about twenty years. The on-going voluntary separation draws to an abrupt close when Chris climbs through the second-floor window of his mother's Brooklyn brownstone, hoping to end the brewing family feud over where their aging mother will spend the remainder of her retirement.

Artistic Alexandra however is dead set on remaining put, and has barricaded herself into her home with an army of homemade Molotov cocktails!

The Velocity of Autumn is a humorous, honest and touching look at the often fiery nature of family relations and the fragility of love.
