Not only Stoppard's most moving play, but also the most bracing play that anyone has written about love and marriage in years.

Ewan McGregor and Maggie Gyllenhaal make their Broadway debuts in this "stirring and sensual" Broadway revival of Tom Stoppard's play, produced by the Roundabout Theatre Company. They will star alongside Tony-winner Cynthia Nixon.
Ewan McGregor is a Golden Globe and Olivier-nominee, whilst Ms. Gyllenhaal was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film Crazy Heart. Cynthia Nixon won a Tony Award in 2006 for her role in the play Rabbit Hole. The Real Thing's multi-award-winning cast are certain to ensure this stirring new production packs a punch.
This Tony Award-winning play takes a dark look at human relationships and the nature of honesty, fidelity and love, cleverly lightening its more serious content with humor. It tells the story of a playwright (McGregor) who is not so happily married to the lead actress (Nixon) in his play about a marriage on the verge of collapse, when his real-life affair with a close friend of theirs (Gyllenhaal) threatens to derail their marriage completely.
