2024 Olivier Awards: Sunset Boulevard Wins Big!

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard Wins Big At The Royal Albert Hall

The Olivier Awards, a night of glamour and celebration, took place yesterday evening, April 14th, at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. Hosted by Emmy Award winner Hannah Waddingham, the spotlight shone on one musical in particular during the annual ceremony; Sunset Boulevard. With a remarkable 7 total awards, this reimagined adaptation of the classic 1950s film, crafted by Andrew Lloyd Webber, garnered accolades including 'Best Musical Revival' and 'Best Director', with Nicole Scherzinger taking home the Olivier for 'Best Actress In A Musical', for her role as Norma Desmond. Other notable moments of the night included Operation Mincemeat taking home 'Best New Musical' and Succession star Sarah Snook winning 'Best Actress' for her role in The Picture of Dorian Grey.
