Since 1969, The New York String Orchestra has been a spring board for the country's most talented young musicians to hone their craft and experience what it means to be a professional in their chosen field. Webster Hall : Closes 30th December 2014

Patti Smith is one of punk's founding figures. She will play her annual End of Year shows at New York's Webster Hall on December 28 & 30 and then embark on a series of shows in 2015, celebrating the 40th anniversary of her seminal debut record Horses. More info

NYCB Theatre at Westbury : 23rd December

He saw the bulk of his solo, commercial and critical success in the late 70s and 80s, beginning with the release, in 1977, of "Lucille". Prior to that Rogers was frontman for a successful country-rock group The First Edition, with whom he had the hits "Just Dropped in (to See What Condition my Condition Was In)" and "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town". Rogers' smooth personal style (well manicured greying beard, salt and pepper hair and slick suits) and raw, achingly emotive voice proved perfect for romantic ballads and 'storytelling' songs.
