Why See The Bear & Other Jokes by Anton Chekhov?

The Bear & Other Jokes by Anton Chekov

After a sold-out and acclaimed run of Uncle Vanya, The Russian Arts Theater & Studio returns with The Bear & Other Jokes by Anton Chekhov, staged by award-winning Russian director Aleksey Burago.

An encounter between a self-dramatizing widow, a timid butler and a barbaric debt collector quickly turns into a comic battle of wit, money, pistols and love. Featuring live musical performances of beloved classical repertoire, original compositions, and popular Russian romances, this show also includes three of Anton Chekhov's lesser known short stories, as well as jokes collected from his letters and memoirs. This summer, we invite you to join The Russian Arts Theater & Studio at the beautiful West End Theater and experience our signature Chekhov!
