A hotly anticipated love letter to Broadway and its enduring legacy
Twenty years in the making, high spirited song and dance spectacular 'Pamela's First Musical' finally takes its first bow at Red Bank's Two River Theater this fall! Written by a star-studded team including Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning playwrights Wendy Wasserstein and Christopher Durang, as well as frequent musical collaborators Cy Coleman and David Zippel, the ambitious new production launches the Two River's 25th anniversary season in classic Broadway style!
Based on the late Wasserstein's children's book, 'Pamela's First Musical' is part coming-of-age tale, part loving tribute to the vibrant history of the Great White Way and part musical-within-a-musical. When creative 12 year-old Pamela loses her mom, her dad does his best to mend the rift, but has trouble understanding his unusual daughter. Enter Pamela's eccentric Aunt Louise, a big personality full of vim and vigour who whisks her away to see her first ever Broadway musical, meeting a host of colorful characters along the fabulous ride.
