The LPAC Honors Living Legend Billie Jean King
The Lesbian Political Action committee honors 39-time Grand Slam winner Billie Jean King at their third annual Levity & Justice for All gathering. Bringing together pro-equality political leaders, media personalities, comedians and performers for one special evening, the dynamic organization will be raising funds to support endorsed progressive candidates in the 2018 midterm elections. American singer songwriter and activist Melissa Etheridge hosts.
Echoing the LPAC's championing of women's rights and LGBQT equality, Billie Jean King's advocacy of gender equality, social and racial justice are a defining element of her prolific career. Considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time, King not only won an astounding number of Grand Slam titles but campaigned for equal prize money in men and women's games, winning the historic Battle of The Sexes tennis match against Bobby Rigg in 1973.
The 2018 line up includes Chaunte Wayans, Judy Gold, A.B Cassidy, Pat Brown and Kate Clinton.
