An Awards Show With A Difference
With the all important mid term elections around the corner, the Me Too movement still fresh in our minds and socio politico tensions at an all time high, the Golden Probes awards show uses humour as a weapon against sexism, misogyny and anti-choice politics. The sardonic, razor-sharp yearly event comes from the minds of Lady Parts Justice, an inclusive and intersectional comedy based non-profit dedicated to exposing politicians who oppose access to birth control and abortion.
The Golden Probes 2018 will be hosted by outspoken feminist, LGBQT advocate and five-time Emmy nominated comedian Margaret Cho, who'll be doling out her trademark brand of bold, full-frontal humour alongside a star-studded line up of special guest presenters including Orange Is The New Black's Taylor Schilling and Natasha Lyonne, Savage Love writer Dan Savage, and Arrested Development's Mae Whitman. With categories like 'Pro-Lifetime Achievement' and 'Best Original Science', this riotous, raucous evening of satire promises to bolster the resistance against anti-reproductive rights adversaries with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
