Why See Donovan?
Sunshine Superman 50th Anniversary
Beginning his career in the early sixties as a folk singer in the Dylan mold, English songwriter Donald Leitch AKA Donovan's sound evolved into an eclectic mix of rock, jazz and world music influences. He became one of the first acts of the British invasion to immerse himself in the psychedelic American counter-culture, and in 1966 his track 'Sunshine Superman' hit the top of the Billboard charts. The album of the same name remains Donovan's defining statement, containing the title track, 'Season of the Witch' and many more.
In celebration of the record's 50th Anniversary, Donovan is taking the record on the road, alongside classics from throughout his back catalogue, such as 'Catch the Wind', 'Mellow Yellow' and 'Hurdy Gurdy Man'. Catch this icon when he hits Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, NY, Closed June 2, 2017
