Roundabout Theatre Company provide you with a courtside view of the New York Premiere of Anna Ziegler's new drama set in the world of professional tennis, exploring what it is that makes us tick and why. Following the story of six-time US Open champion Tim Powers and his Russian wunderkind opponent Sergei Sergeyev, The Last Match shows All-American Tim's battle to prove himself one more time against rising star Sergei's raw talent and nerve.

Citing nine time time Grand Slam winner Andy Roddick's retirement speech as an inspiration, Ziegler said “Watching someone at that age say goodbye to the life they’ve known made me think about what athletes go through in a much more accelerated way than the rest of us.” Rich with intensity, theatricality and eloquent prose, don't miss this engrossing work, you might just never look at tennis in the same way again.
