Enjoy a Spectacular Chinese New Year with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra
Celebrating the year of the pig, the Chinese New Year Show sees the acclaimed New Jersey Symphony Orchestra perform a fusion of opera choruses and traditional Chinese songs with company. The Pig is the last position in the Chinese Zodiac and represents luck, fun, good fortune and wealth.
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra is over 100 years old and is a state wide orchestra known for putting on stunning performances. On the night, Xian Zhang will lead as the conductor, eight years after she first guest-conducted the orchestra in 2010. Award-winning Korean-American pianist Min Kwon who has played to audiences worldwide in countries including Switzerland, Malaysia, France and Germany will also be performing on the night as well as Tan Dun's The Triple Resurrection, Beethoven's Choral Fantasy and Li Huanzhi's Spring Festival Overture which is an orchestral work depicting the celebration of the New Year.
