AFTER 50 YEARS, I GET TO SEE THE EAGLES

I first seen your concert when you played at the Arie Crown in Chicago at that time the album "Eagles on the Border", I have been a fan of your group and songs the day you came to play at the Arie, it was my 21st birthday, Mothers Day. To this day, "Take It to the Limit" still brings tears to my eyes, during my life experiences rough, happy, sad, instead of telling myself, Sylvia you can do this.. I would recall your words "Take to the Limit, one more time, which was a song of encouragement to me and still is. I seen your concert at United Center, March 9th loved all the songs I heard and enjoyed the concert. Thank You, Eagles for inspiring me with your songs,,,, Still going strong after 50 years.

NAILED IT

I have loved the Eagles since I first heard them in the early seventies, but never got to see them until March 16th at Charlotte. Great concert!! I was not disappointed. Vince Gill is a great addition and I was impressed with his singing and guitar skills. Steuert Smith, Deacon Frye, and Joe Walsh also just shredded it. Such a treat to see these guys playing together and watching them produce epic solos and duals throughout. Don Henley sounded good, as usual, and it was fun to see him work the drums almost effortlessly. I also appreciate the other talented members of the band who added depth and allowed a lot of the other guys to do other musical parts during the concert. Appreciate Vince Gill filling in for Steely Dan (disappointed about that no-show) and playing with another very talented guitarist for the opener. So glad he is with the band. Thankful that I got to see these guys!!!

VERY ENTERTAINING

I grew up listening to the Eagles and I really enjoy their music. I know very little about Vince Gill or Deacon Frey. On most of the songs where Vince was lead I was not impressed, he wasn't bad, just not what I was expecting. Deacon on the other had did a great job on all the songs he sang. Joe Walsh was great. His guitar playing and singing were excellent. I don't recall the name of the other guitar player, but he was also great. I really enjoyed his performance. One of the signs of getting old is that I wish they had turned the volume down just a bit.

STILL GREAT BUT SLOWING DOWN

Seen Eagles 4 times, once in 70s once in 80s, once in 2005, and last night. Deacon was great standing in for his dad Glenn. However, as my friend Steve observed, they sounded more like an Eagles tribute band. I was surprised that Don Henley seems to no longer have the “Golden throat”. However, he is in his 70s. Same thing happened to Sinatra. Vince Gill performed well but he is about 2 octaves higher than Glenn Frey was and while he performed well, it just wasn’t the same. The crowd didn’t care because we love our Eagles no matter what. Joe Walsh totally shredded. He’s an awesome performer. Saw Zach Brown group immediately before Eagles and was blown away at how great they are. Never had seen them before but definitely a fan now. Acoustics at Petco are pitiful but visuals were great.

6-28-18 - COORS FIELD - DENVER - SURPRISED BY MANY THINGS...

Right out of the Blocks they opened with 7 Bridges Road, was a beautiful rendition for what set the tone of a classic Eagles show. 2nd song, right to the introduction of Deacon Frey and off and running with Take It Easy, well done. Was fun seeing the young Frey helping front the band. 3rd song Henley’s up front for One Of These Nights and a brief discussion. Talked about Glenn Frey, his spirit being captured in the songs, and that the celebration of his life’s achievements would always be remembered, and visited throughout the evening in the body of his work. Enter Vince Gil for “Take It To The Limit”. I’ll just say right now, that if you’re trying to find a voice to cover Meisner and Frey for many of the Eagles Standards, I can’t believe anyone could have done them any better. Having Vince on board was a huge coup in the absence of Glenn Frey. Vince was amazing all night, really brought his heart with his vocals. My final comments, in general, a Very Entertaining show, had a horn sect
