MOSTLY EXHAUSTING WITH A SLIGHT UPTICK IN THE MIDDLE

I think Cate Blanchett is brilliant. And she did a fine job in this production. Unfortunately, Isabelle Huppert made the whole experience absolutely tedious and since she was on stage with Blanchett 98% of the time it took away from Blanchett's appeal. Fortunately, mid-play, Elizabeth Debicki came on stage and I woke up. She was magnificent and outshined them both. Sadly she doesn't stay long enough to make the whole thing worthwhile. Towards the end of the show Isabelle Huppert delivers the most boring soliloquy I have ever seen on stage; a monologue that probably lasted 10 minutes but felt like hours. In addition, the casting of Blanchett opposite Huppert was an odd selection for the play. Between the wildly different accents and body types, it failed to resontate that the characters were sisters, which is a basic premise of the play.

DISSAPPOINTED

Saw the show on Friday nite which was opening nite- Cate was brilliant but the sister Solange had such a thick accent she was hard to understand- she also did not command the stage as well as Cate- another shining part was the employer who was excellent but left the stage too soon- all in all was a waste of money and time do not feel badly that you miss this be thankful you did not waste your money as I did

CASTING?

Disregarding lesser criticisms, I regret to say that Ms. Huppert's English skills are not up to the task.
