The emotional offering is a poignant examination of life after divorce, empty-nest syndrome and overcoming the obstacles of middle age with humour and grace.
When New Yorker Rachel is left by her British husband for his younger lover, she is left in London to pick up the pieces as she copes with the divorce. The cataclysmic occurrence has set off a chain reaction of mid-life crises, from an empty house to the worrying prospect of destitution, but Rachel rallies and, with Axal the dog for company, learns she is made of stronger stuff than she was aware of.
