JANE'S ADDICTION

This whole concert including Smashing Pumpkin's was simply awesome, including the sound.

APPARENTLY ONLY PEOPLE THAT HAD A BAD TIME WRITE REVIEWS

I literally don’t understand these reviews. 1st of all, I’m an audio engineer and I know good live sound, and great live sound. This was GREAT live sound. Much more refined and dialed in, than the crazy amp volume of the past. Secondly every performer was absolutely delightful and sweet to the crowd who would think otherwise? Examples? Every band killed it- and if you think janes addiction was unintelligible- you’ve never heard janes addiction! That’s how it is on the record! The pumpkins BROUGHT it- flawless performance- the new stuff is incredible- in fact Billy’s screaming again and it’s SAVAGE- there was a point where after a song a complete stranger high fives and hugs out group because “that’s what I paid to see” . No live video will even come close to conveying not only the energy of pumpkin land- but how incredible this show actually sounded. If you had a bad night sound wise - then you must’ve been in the one bad spot. I was on the left side 1 row up and it was great

GREAT SHOW

Both bands were tight energetic and entertaining. Some pretty disappointing reviews from previous shows but the Vancouver date was excellent. Janes set was too short, is my only complaint. Brilliant sound very loud and clear, musicianship was spot on. Back up band very cool as well. Hope future shows bring as much pleasure as this one did !!

REVERB FROM HELL

Although visually entertaining the acoustics were so bad we could barely make out what was being played. Never again attending American Airlines for a concert.

POPPY WAS THE ONLY GOOD THING

Poppy was goddamn amazing. I had never heard of JA previously and I’m glad I didn’t because they were actually horrid. The sound was completely unintelligible and the sets and lights were easily the worst out of all the bands. The lead singer talked for half of the hour they were on stage and was a dick to the crowd. Smashing pumpkins were great but the sound quality was horrible. I could barely hear the singing most of the time and when I left the concert my ears rang

SOUND QUALITY WAS TERRIBLE

Wish I'd seen these reviews sooner. These guys have been playing for over 30 years. You'd think they'd figured it out by now? Way too loud and distorted . The only one that sounded great was the acoustic version of tonight tonight. The end, they all just kind of walked off stage, and that was it. Disappointing

CLIMATE PLEDGE ARENA SHOULD STICK TO HOCKEY.

Okay, everything you've heard about the sound quality is true. This venue is extremely echoy, and there's nothing the sound guy can do about that other than turn the volume way down which would SUCK for different reasons. Another unfortunate ding was that Billy seemed to have laryngitis- James Iha did most of the talking and revealed during the show that Billy was pretty sick. That said, the show went on, they played instrumental jam sessions delivered on older hits as well as new material. 100% of pumpkins shows I've been to before this included an encore but I think Billy had to throw in the towel. Still, I'm super grateful they didn't cancel. I partied like the sound quality wasn't terrible because I literally cannot be stopped from partying. Will never go back to this venue for a concert, though. Wow. Hail Satan!

SOUND QUALITY

As others have noted the sound quality was not great. It was way too loud to begin with. Yeah whatever grandpa!! But seriously, with Jane's Addition I could barely hear the singing since the instruments drowned it out. And with the Pumpkins, that aspect of it wasn't there but still, holy shit, my ears were bleeding. I wet with my wife and she thought the same. We've both been to a ton of concerts and it's not like we're afraid of loud noise. But at some point it's TOO loud. Other than that I thought the performances were really good. I didn't see the opening act so can't opine on that.

MOODY AUSTIN: BAD SOUND

The sound at the austin show was not good. Distortion was much higher than previous shows on other SP tours. Lyrics were barely intelligible. Very muddy. I went the next night and sat in the exact same area for Roger waters and it was significantly better. One of (if not) THE best sounding concerts I’ve ever heard. So, I think I had a pretty fair assessment. Jane’s was great. Maybe the sound profile fit their music better? Pumpkins show was good overall, but the sound made me leave a pumpkins show early, for the first time ever.

WAS IT THE VENUE, THE SOUND GUYS, OR THE BANDS?

I was so excited to see this show as soon as it was announced. I've never seen either Jane's nor SP live so it was going to be an epic night. I don't know if the acoustics of the venue were awful, if the sound folks need to be replaced, or if the bands need 10-15 performances before they sound good, but it was AWFUL. Everyone around us was shocked at how bad it sounded. Either we couldn't hear the vocals or the guitars were non-existant and the vocals were choppy....or something. I've never left a live show, now matter how bad it was. I left during the 3rd SP song, ate pizza in my car, and was home in bed by 11:30. What a disappointing night.

NOPE

I saw SP years ago and it was great. I’ve never seen Janes Addiction and was really looking forward to it. Janes was awful! Played lame slow songs and put the crowd to sleep. No “Just Because” or “Superhero”! SP was just as bad. I have never left in the middle of a performance until now. Save your money. This tour is a joke.

LACKLUSTER

Poppy's sound was the best out of the whole show, the our lady peace was fun until the end of their set. It felt like the longer the set went on the harder it was to hear anything the band was playing. By the time smashing pumpkins came on the sound was louder than any show I've ever been to and yet you couldn't hear a thing. Waste of money if you're just going for smashing pumpkins and not poppy or our lady peace. From what little I caught of the poppy set though it was great and if that's your motivation don't panic. Left like 2 songs into smashings set though.

GOOD MUSIC, POOR VISUALS

We were in what I hoped to be excellent seats. Sound quality was acceptable but not a single camera or screen to give those of us further away an opportunity to see what was happening on stage. Very disappointing. Not likely to return.

NOV. 1,2022 ST LOUIS SHOW

Jane's and Smashing sounded horrible. It was nearly unintelligible how bad the sound was. Jane's was the worst sound I believe I've ever had to witness. It literally hurt my ears to listen to it. Smashing was minimally better, but still WAY on the horrible side. Seriously it was just noise, incredibly disappointed as I am a big fan of both bands. Poppy easily sounded the best. In fact I enjoyed that set. The sound guys or something needs to change. I would never see them again at the Hockey Arena.

CLIMATE PLEDGE ARENA..

Just went to janes addiction and smashing pumpkins last night.. couldn't hear there voices clearly, janes was ok.. smashing was depressing, his voice was so bad. Left after 3 songs. Could not even make it through the concert. Pledge arena is really nice inside, but sucks to not hear the musician.

2.0 star rating Natasha S from Los Angeles, California

I WAS EXCITED UNTIL..

I was really looking forward to this show. I love Smashing Pumpkins and like Janes Addiction.... Janes Addiction was awesome. Then Smashing Pumpkins... I don't know what the hell that was.... I love their music but it wasn't loud enough, not much in terms of energy... their presence seemed forced and not really there. Sure the visuals were cool but it didn't distract me enough to notice how lack luster the performance was. Sure we sang Happy Birthday to his kiddo, that was the only memorable part of the show. Sadly this concert was 100% forgettable. If I didn't buy merch or have a paper ticket I wouldn't have remembered I saw them live. I've been to show's I didn't know who was performing but I remember them because of their presence on stage the music wasn't my tastes but they were epic. This was just disappointing.

HORRIBLE SOUND

The show started late because supposedly they were messing with the sound. However once they started, the sound was so horrible and distorted that I literally got up and left in the middle of the 2nd song. Never, ever going to this crap venue ever again. I drove all the way from Oklahoma and I instantly regretted it.
