Why See Reasons to be Pretty Happy?
The third play in LaBute's Reasons cycle
The long-awaited sequel to Neil LaBute's acclaimed relationship dramas Reasons To Be Pretty and Reasons To Be Happy, this new drama picks up where we last saw Greg and Steph, with their tumultuous relationship having now mellowed after five years in New York City. Heading back to their blue-collar home town for a long-planned school reunion, they must now meet the two friends that they left behind. Reasons to Be Pretty Happy examines the long-term effects that our choices and sacrifices make, and whether or not our two heroes have finally discovered happiness.
Old friends, more secrets
We are reintroduced to Carly and Kent as the two other friends who were left behind in smalltown USA. Now supposedly all settled down with jobs and families, this final installment of LaBute's dramatic trilogy keeps up the pace of danger, destruction and secrets; as the alcohol keeps flowing, the pent-up frustrations and secrets of the foursome become harder to contain.
