Why See Smile?

Smile features music by Marvin Hamlisch and the book and lyrics written by Broadway legend Howard Ashman. The musical is based on the 1975 film of the same title, and chronicles the backstage dramas of the fictional California Young American Miss beauty pageant. It opened on Broadway in 1986 and received a Tony Award nomination and two Drama Desk Award nominations. Songs include "Disneyland", "Smile", "In Our Hands", "Very Best Week of Your Lives" and "Dear Mom".
