PROGRAM
Allegro Brillante
Deemed as 'everything I know about classical ballet in 13 minutes' by the man himself, this jubilant piece is a concentrated exploration of Russian romanticism, displaying immense knowledge of classical technique to Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 3.
The Four Temperaments
Based on the ancient theory that the 'four humours': melancholic, sanguinic, phlegmatic, and choleric dictate both our psychological and physical attributes, this thoughtful ballet is a wonderfully choreographed piece, with a classical grounding against modern technique.
Symphony in C
A grand classical culmination that evokes the extravagance of the palace of Versailles. 50 dancers decked out in sparkling Swarovski-encrusted crystals create a magical and magnificent crescendo to Bizet's divine score to finish the evening.
