Eifman Ballet Presents Their Take On the Classic Love Tale
Performing Anna Karenina, renowned Russian ballet company Eifman Ballet come to the David H. Koch Theater in New York. The ballet company began in 1977 with an aim for absolute innovation, they have gone on to become celebrated for their talent, originality and discipline.
Depicting the 1878 novel Anna Karenina, a story that is widely regarded as one of the best pieces of literature of all time, the ballet portrays the tale of a married Countess who has an affair with the affluent Count Vronsky. The tragic story of love and scandal ends with Anna's husband giving her an ultimatum: go into exile with Vronsky, meaning that she will never see her son again, or stay with her family and lose her love.
