An established favorite in any orchestra's repertoire, Debussy's La Mer is an engaging evocation, capturing the essence and ambiance of the big blue. From sun-drenched lazy waves to frenzied squalls, La Mer transports the listener from the concert hall to the ocean as imagined by one of music's finest minds. Join the NY Philharmonic as they tell this watery tale under the baton of Jaap Van Zweden.
Alongside, the evening will feature the talents of American-Canadian MacArthur Grant Fellow Leila Josewicz as she takes on Stravinsky's Violin Concerto and an opportunity to experience a brand new work from Louis Andriessen.
