Following a workshop at Playwright's Center, the new play by Martyna Majok debuts Off-Broadway at the Claire Tow Theatre. Presented by Lincoln Center Theater, queens takes on the immigrant experience in America, a subject which couldn't be more timely. The play focuses on two generations of immigrant women in Queens, and their diverging opinions on their place in the USA, and lives that they left behind.
Martyna Majok excels in shining a light on communities who are rarely at the center of American drama. Among her most recent works to receive new York stagings are The Cost of Living and Ironbound. queens is directed by Danya Taymor.
