Why See Deep Purple?
We All Went Down to Montreux...
When it comes to rock, there aren't many greater names than Deep Purple. The British group formed in 1968, and have been bursting eardrums ever since. Alongside fellow Brits Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath they practically defined what we now call 'hard rock' on albums like Fireball and Machinehead, and tracks like their signature number 'Smoke on the Water', which is pretty much the first riff that anyone ever learns on the guitar.
The band's last full length record was 2017's Infinite. With the irreplaceable Ian Gillan on vocals and original member Ian Paice still sounding out a thunderstorm on the drums, Catch Deep Purple when they hit NYCB Theatre at Westbury in Westbury, NY, Closed July 26, 2015.
Performance date: 26 July 2015
