Why See Sweeney Todd?

The New York Philharmonic presents a gala of Stephen Sondheim's musical thriller, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The evening of performance will feature songs and music from Sondheim's original Broadway production.

Bryn Terfel will be reprising the title role of Todd from his 2007 Royal Festival Hall concert, with Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson singing the mezzo-soprano role of Mrs. Lovett, joined by Tony Winner Christian Borle. A rare treat for opera and film lovers alike.
