In what seems like an unlikely meeting of musical minds, genre-bending jazz funk outfit Snarky Puppy is set to share the stage with living legend David Crosby at an extra special one-night-only performance at New York's historic Carnegie Hall. Yet their mutual admiration of one another has pre-empted collaborations that culminated in the co-writing of Crosby's fifth studio album Lighthouse.
The three-time Grammy Award winning group, helmed by bandleader and bassist Michael League, and the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer come together at one of the most politically charged eras in recent western history to perform and revive protest songs from the 60s, forming part of Carnegie Hall's '60s: The Years That Changed America' festival.
