Beetlejuice To Close On Broadway

The Musical, The Musical, The Musical plays at the Winter Garden Theater

Beetlejuice, the musical adaptation of Tim Burton's kooky movie classic, has announced that it will take its final bow at the Winter Garden Theater on June 6, 2020. The Tony-nominated adaptation opened on Broadway in April 2019 and will close to allow the previously announced The Music Man, starring Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, to move into the 1,526 seat venue in September.

However, this will not be the last you see of Beetlejuice as the musical is expected to launch a national tour in 2021, and there is rumour that the production could move to another Broadway venue but that is not yet confirmed.

Beetlejuice currently stars Alex Brightman as Beetlejuice, Sophia Anne Caruso as Lydia Deetz, Kerry Butler as Barbara Maitland, David Josefsberg as Adam Maitland. The musical is directed by Alex Timbers and features a score by Eddie Perfect and a book by Anthony King and Scott Brown.

What is Beetlejuice about?

Lydia Deetz has an odd obsession, death, and an even odder talent, talking to ghosts. So when her family move into a haunted mansion it's Lydia's time to shine. As the previous occupiers, Adam and Barbra (who are now dead) try to scare the new proprietors out of their beloved home, with no prevail, they call upon the mischievous and stripe loving Beetlejuice to their aid...

Beetlejuice is now playing at the Winter Garden Theater through to June 6, 2020.
