Courtney Reed Returns To Aladdin For One Week!

The original cast member returns for an exclusive run

Broadway's Aladdin welcomes back their original Jasmine for one week this October! Courtney Reed, who originated the role in 2014, and has gone onto perform as Jasmine on tour and in London, will step back onto the magic carpet from October 16, through to October 27.

Reed will be joining a cast made up of Clinton Greenspan as Aladdin, Major Attaway as Genie, Jonathan Freeman as Jafar, Brian Gonzales as Babkak, Mike Longo as Kassim, Brad Weinstock as Omar, JC Montgomery as the Sultan and Don Darryl Rivera as Iago.

Aladdin has been a dazzling jewel in the Broadway crown since its opening at the New Amsterdam Theater in 2014. Featuring music by Alan Menken, Aladdin is directed by Casey Nicholaw with a book by Chad Beguelin and lyrics by Tim Rice.

What is Aladdin about?

Plucky street urchin Aladdin's life is transformed forever when he ventures into the cave of Wonders and discovers a magic lamp. Out pops a manic Genie, who has the power to grant Aladdin three wishes. Aladdin's first wish is to be made into a prince, mainly so he can impress the city's beautiful Princess Jasmine, who he's sure could never love a pauper. But as love begins to blossom between Aladdin and Jasmine, there's trouble on the horizon. The nefarious statesman Jafar knows all about Aladdin's real identity and the power of the lamp, and is determined to secure the Genie's magic for himself!

Aladdin is now playing at the New Amsterdam Theater.
