What did the critics think of Long Day's Journey Into Night?

The Bristol Old Vic production of Long Day's Journey into Night, made its trek from London to Brooklyn in style. The limited run production opened May 13 and closes May 27 - but what did the critics think?

Deadline stated that is was a 'mesmerizing symphony of rambling, barely disguised resentments and outbursts of flashing anger.' The Washington Post had mixed feelings over the production saying 'Eyre's mixed bag of a revival, one alternately engrossing and overly wound up, and in any case, disappointingly, new a soul-shatterer.' Time Out New York believed Long Day's Journey Into Night 'had all three problems' when it comes to big ticket plays, namely 'terrifying their actors; famous starts who fluster their colleagues; massive sets that turn environments from living things into monuments.'

Looks like critics had mixed opinions on Long Day's Journey Into Night! But, we'd also love to hear from you - if you've been to see it why not leave a review?
