What did the critics think of Children Of A Lesser God?

The first-ever Broadway revival of Mark Medoff's award-winning Children Of A Lesser God, directed by Tony winner Kenny Leon, officially opened at Studio 54 April 11. The landmark play received rather mixed reviews from critics.

Theatermania praised the 'exciting performances' stating they infused 'Medoff's script with new vitality'. However, Theatremania also said the production design was 'bizarre'. Variety praised Ridloff saying she 'is a stunning performer...she moves like a wood nymph'. But also said the play was 'lacking that solid thematic foundation'.

The New York Times praised Jackon saying he gave a 'lovely performance...charming, too' but also went on to say 'Leon's direction seems random'.

It seems Children Of A Lesser God hits in some areas, but not all! We'd love to hear from you if you've seen it, make sure you leave a review and give your opinion.
