A night of legends
Country rock legend Steve Earle isn't afraid to say what he thinks when it comes to political and social issues. His music is imbued with this outspoken outlook and his lyrics have often been deemed controversial, but there is also a confessional side to his writing that plants it firmly in the genre of country - he's known a great deal of heartbreak and struggle in his time. But the 60 year old troubadour isn't lying down and taking it, he's still singing the blues, still touring and still releasing new music.
Earle is playing the Town hall Theatre this December, headlining the first ever John Henry's Friends benefit concert. He's joined by Jackson Browne, the definitive voice of the sun-soaked, mellow Southern California vibe that emanated from Laurel Canyon and spread far beyond in the mid 60s and 70s, Browne's best known tracks include 'These Days', 'Running On Empty' and 'Doctor My Eyes'. Justin Townes Earle and The Mastersons are also on the bill.
