Billy & david
Two comedy greats get together for a special night of conversation as part of the New York Comedy Festival. Emmy winners Billy Crystal and David Steinberg have been in the entertainment business for a total of over 90 years, so they have plenty to talk about! They'll be reflecting back on their own careers, sharing starry anecdotes and offering up some behind-the-scenes gossip.
Billy Crystal has been making people laugh for 40 years. Born in Manhattan in 1948, he began performing stand up after he graduated from NYU, and was soon tagged as one of the country's finest young comedians. His talents translated well to the silver screen, and after a few bit parts in the likes of The Princess Bride and Spinal Tap, he hit the big time with 1989's When Harry Met Sally..., maybe the quintessential rom-com of the modern era. Alongside his film work on screen, Crystal has hosted the Academy Awards an incredible nine times.
David Steinberg is best known as a stand-up comic. He enjoyed huge success in the 1960s and 70s, appearing on the Tonight Show more 130 times. He's also directed episodes of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm and currently hosts Comedy Central's interview show Inside Comedy.
